There are a multitude of picture hanging systems available on the market today and at pro hanging systems, we cater to each and every need, for both domestic and commercial environments.
Traditional methods such as picture rails or direct fixing are older picture hanging systems which are still in use today. However, technology and creativity have worked together to create much more versatile and less invasive art hanging systems, that are really leading the way when it comes to displaying collections or even individual pieces.
There are several different hanging mechanisms that pro hanging systems use. The system used on any particular job is determined by the nature of the job itself.
Clip Rail System
The clip rail system is both sophisticated in it’s visual impact yet simplistic in it’s ease of use, and it’s versatility allows for both domestic and commercial use. It is mainly used on pre-exisiting walls.
The clip rail hanging system consists of 3 components:
The rail – This is the only piece which is actually fixed to the wall. It is available in matt white, gloss off-white or brushed aluminum and comes in 2 or 3 metre lengths.
The hanger (cable) – All artworks are hung from the rail via the hanger, or cable. It is available in two colours: clear nylon or stainless steel. At the top of each hanger is an attachment which clicks smoothly in to the rail. The beauty in the design of this attachment is that it is not fixed to the rail, but slides along to allow for minute adjustments in horizontal positioning.
The hook – The hooks are stainless steel and attach to the bottom of the hanger via a simple spring loaded system. It is from these hooks that the artwork hang. The major benefit of the spring loaded mechanism in the hook, is that it allows for simple adjustments along the vertical plane enabling you to perfect the positioning of your artwork without creating further damage to the walls by moving fixed hooks.

Recessed Hanging System
This art hanging system is ideal for new constructions as it can be incorporated in to the schedule of works between the framing and plastering stages. As the rail is recessed in to the plaster, it is the most unobtrusive of our hanging systems and allows for complete versatility once construction is finished for a multitude of different art hanging concepts depending on the clients needs. The most beautiful thing about this system (apart from the fact that it’s nearly invisible) is that once installed, any art hanging preferences can be accommodated without any further need for additional fixings that may result in touch up works using any other system.
Again, the simplicity of the recessed hanging system is it’s most attractive feature.
Like the clip rail system, it has three main components: the rail, the hanger and the hook.
The Recessed Rail is used in a more commercial environment and replaces the need for the P50 rail. It still allows for movement between wall and ceiling and creates a shadow line, as does the P50, but the major advantage is that once the rail has been installed, the plaster can then be butted up to either side so the only part remaining visible is the recessed channel in to which the hangers are inserted. This then serves a dual purpose of preventing cracking from movement in the plaster and allows for smooth installation of artworks at a later date without having to factor in additional costs of extra contractors.
‘U’ Chanel
As the name implies, the track with this system is in the shape of a ‘U’ and can be fixed directly to a ceiling.
‘P’ Chanel
In this case, the track is in the shape of a ‘P’ and can be installed on partitioning walls which are not full height.
Regardless of which picture hanging system is used, pro hanging systems will ensure your art works are displayed in a manner which enhances the impact of each piece, whether they be hung collectively or individually.
